its made to carry snowboards and skis...so yes the longboard will fit fine, vertically and horozontaly...i hate this for school tho, theres only 3 main pockets and its considerbaly small, no space or organization

Definitely be used as an everyday bag, I know plenty of guys and gals who do. As for the longboard, of course.

This'll be fine for everyday school use, but it definitely will not carry a 43" longboard inside it. You can probably strap it to the outside, but it's not going to fit inside.
