KEEN makes a biking shoe complete with SPD. It has a stiffer sole and covers your toes. I highly recommend this option for biking. It will protect your toes, but give you the feeling of a sandal.

I would recommend getting a Keen sandal instead that has a closed toe so you do not mess up your toes in case your feet come off the pedals.
