This rack will only fit on round & square cross bars (Yakima or Thule). As Laura mentioned, they do make many racks which will attach to factory crossbars... but keep in mind that factory cross bars are not designed to hold much weight.

According to Yakima, this rack does not fit a 2002 Subaru Outback Wagon: http://yakima.com/racks/bike-racks/product/8002100/copperhead.aspx ...see "Does this fit my car?" on right. They have plenty of other options though!
