I have a hard time getting in and out of a set in, is the sit on top easier? And stable to get in and out of?

Yes its very easy. I have a SOT ocean kayak thats 29.5" inches wide and can easily climb back on in deep water. No need for a paddle float or bilge pump either. When I get out of the kayak is does rock heavily so make sure any belongs are properly secured to prevent them from going overboard.
