Can someone compare this to the Backcountry Shift softshell jacket advertised (now) for about $100 more. What are the comparisons? Are there legit reasons to spend the extra $$?

The biggest difference is the country of origin. This jacket comes from China and the Shift originates in Canada. Still, I would agree with Cyrus. This jacket is sweet and differences are not worth $100.

theres people that will dissagree with me but i think this is the best softshell out there for a great price...from what ive seen the shift is basically the same but just made out of a different fabic that performs the almost the same, and any differences arent worth 100 bucks
