My Polar F4 does not get the signal from my wearlink strap. Even if it does on about the 5th attempt, it soon 'forgets' what it was doing and goes back to the stopwatch default setting.

You might want to check out the Polar support site (http://www.polar.fi/us-en/support/). If worse comes to worse, you can always return the watch for another one or a refund, just make sure you contact backcountry.com first. Theyll usually hook it up with a return label.
