If I hand wash it, would it air-dry ok instead using a dryer? Would it take forever to dry?

You can air-dry it, certainly. If you decide to leave it out on some towels or on a rock, expect it to take up to 24 hours to dry completely (for the large, and depending on temperature, humidity, etc.). Fluffing it up every now and again will help it dry faster.
