One of my largest concerns when choosing a rain jacket is that the hood will adjust to stay on my head and have a visor large enough that I don't have to walk looking at the ground (i.e, it will keep the rain off my face). So with this in mind, how does this jacket's hood hold up?

I wore this jacket in a lot of pretty brutal weather last year - fine rain, driving rain, sleet, slush, snow...you name it, we had it. I wear glasses, so keeping water off my face is a pretty big concern. I never had a problem with the hood. Sure, there were some water droplets on my glasses from time to time, but there wasn't water dripping off my nose. The brim did a good job. I could walk normally; I didn't have to look at the ground any more than I usually do while hiking to watch where I'm going. I didn't use the volume adjustment on the back of the hood, but I cinched the drawstring up a bit around my face if I didn't want the hood to fly off my head in the wind or if I moved my head a lot. Hope that helps.

There is a velcro volume adjustment on the back of the hood as well as an adjustable draw cord that goes around the opening so you should be able to adjust it to fit your head. It also has a decent size visor.
