I've used this cup for 3 years. Over open flame, and on camp stoves. If you keep the cup on the edge of the fire, with the handles pointed away from the flame, they will stay cool enough to use without gloves.

The first two guys are giving opinions. this cup is perfectly safe to use in a fire. Just make sure its a small fire otherwise you may need gloves or a pot lifter to remove it. I have one of these cups on my stovetop and I use it to boil water everyday.

I'm with BA. The handles are gonna get hot, but there's no reason it wont work.

I have to disagree. Any non-coated, food-grade stainless steel is fine to use over an open flame.
