Evening,
Would this product benefit for use as a food storage bag when back country camping?

Yes, this is good for food storage. I would suggest, however, getting the thicker sea to summit bags. I used those every day on my thru-hike and walking through 14 states and 2,200 miles, I never once had an issue with animals of any size smelling or dealing with the bag. If you have an airtight seal, that basically means its odor proof as well, So it works very well. Easy to hang if you feel the need to, and extremely durable.

Depends on where you are, these are in no way shape or form animal proof. If you are in bear country stick with a can, if rodents are your worry then this may work if hung properly. If anything you are trying to keep out gets ahold of this you are probably gonna end up hiking out hungry! Good Luck
