Now from someone who really KNOWS... does this deck compare to the banana tech snowboards out there?

Yes as a far as riding style. They are both very park/freestyle oriented boards. However they will ride completely different since the skate bananna is reverse camber and the artifact is a regular camber board. That will cause them to ride much differently.
