I'm going to the Grand Canyon......would this shoe be too hot or provide too little ankle support. Also,I usually use a 11.5 wide running shoe. What size should I get? Thanks.

Hey Tom , I have a wide US size 12 . I bought the 45.5 and they fit well with very thin socks . I think they would do well on a long summer hike . They are heavier than running shoes , but they protect your feet more . They are too low to provide any ankle support . sorry for the late reply .
