I'm planning to buy a Suunto Core (black and orange), but I've read a lot of complain about the battery life, how's the battery life on the newer model of Suunto Core? I've read one review if the serial number starts with 8 or 9 the software were already updated and the watch is fine. Is this true?

--Suunto has fixed the battery glitch which affected a production run of early watches. Any watch purchases now should have regular battery life of about a year, depending on how much you use, light, compass.
