My daughter will backpack in Europe and stay in hostels. if she doesn't need a sleeping bag, what type of things are best packed in the sleeping bag compartment?

I would would either put anything that you don't necesarrily need to get to regularly but want want easily accesible when you do need it. (ie fleece, rain jacket, toiletries). Or as you start to accumulate dirty clothes I sometimes stuff them in the sleeping bag compartment to keep them seperate from my clean/cleaner clothes.
