How do you fill the Palisades Pack II water bladder? Does the top detach or is it filled through the small hole opening?

There are 2 mylar bladders that are folded up. They "slide" into 2 zippered pockets on each side. The problem I have faced is that the opening is very small. So, what I do is first put the bladders into the pockets, then open up the rubber cap. I fill it slowly, allowing it time to expand and fill the pocket. The caps do not screw/unscrew, but are popped on and off. There is a lever on the cap that allows you to dispense the water. Hope that helps!
