You can use either one,you can ski tour with both set ups!

You can use an Alpine Touring set up (like a Marker Duke/Baron, or a Fritschi Freeride) if you want to skin up and alpine down.

Well I guess you could just use normal Alpine bindings... but it would be really awkward, and inefficient.
