I'm competing on the badlands Primal Quest 2009. Will the Masochist protect my feet? Being a pronator, dues it have enough insole support?
I'm also looking at the Vasque Blur as an option, which is better for a 10 day 600 mile race with lots of trekking?

for a post and a bomber shoe i'd suggest the 09 hardrock as well. the masochist will work, but for an 8+ day adv race a bit more stability will certainly pay off. i raced primal quest utah in montrails.

This shoe does have a medial post. I would call it a "fatigue" post more than a full motion control post. If you are looking for a shoe from the Montrail line with a phenomenal medial post in a very light shoe... check out the Hardrock '09. This would be a great shoe for adventure races and we even make a mid-height Hardrock '09 as well. Hope this helps!

These are very much a running shoe and not a hiking shoe. Have you considered any Salomon shoes? Some of the Speed Comp models are designed for moderate pronators.
