Great Value For Still Solid Shoe

Vans Classic Slip-On Skate Shoe - Men's

Vans Classic Slip-On Skate Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 7, 2008

Even at full price, these shoes are worth it. Comfortable, (still) well constructed, and fun. If you wait it out, however, you can almost always find an excellent deal on these at Backcountry, sweetening the deal even more.

Run Slightly Small But Somehow Still Fit

Patagonia Footwear Drifter Shoe - Men's

Patagonia Footwear Drifter Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 7, 2008

After a few weeks of working these guys in, they're just starting to feel really nice. This shoe/boot runs a tad small which concerned me at first as I could feel my toes pressing into the top of the shoe. However, after walking around a bit in them, they've either stretched a little or my feet have somehow adjusted enough that they're quite comfortable (toes no longer hit or rub the end of the shoe) - almost as comfortable as the well-worn sneakers I'm used to wearing. These shoes certainly feel incredibly durable/well built and provide ample support for light hiking. Also, they're a bit more attractive than most of the hiking shoes currently available.

Favorite Rain Jacket

The North Face Venture Parka - Men's

The North Face Venture Parka - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 7, 2008

Very well constructed, relatively lightweight rain jacket that's good for all seasons. Best I've found. Sure, wish it breathed a bit better but I've yet to find a rain jacket that can actually do this (if it keeps the rain out, it also keeps most of the sweat in). I have both the regular venture (for warmer weather) and the parka venture (for cooler weather) and am very happy with both.
