Wisconsinite, favors weekend frollics in AZ and CO, but always eager to explore new domains
  • Bio:

I'm a sucker for any adventure big or small, but get a bit tied down by work. Would love to wake up and find myself starting a new life in Colorado someday!! Live for hiking, camping, running, walking, just being outside and TRAVEL in general. Love good gear that lives up to it's reputation... which is why I thank my lucky stars for sites like BackCountry.com and all the wonderful people who contribute to the reviews so you know what you're getting into before you purchase!

They are fine on wide feet. I have pretty wide feet myself and find these to be a wonderfully comfortable fit. You will not regret purchasing these =)!

The North Face Adrianne II Winter Boot - Women's

You can make returns simply by clicking on "order status" and then clicking on "return" on the order you'd like to send back. Backcountry.com recommends that you just go ahead and order the size you need rather than wait for the exchange due to the fact that they have limited inventory. They will credit your account when they recieve the item you are returning - they are usually very fast and efficient with this. Just be sure to write the RMA number for returns on the OUTSIDE of your return package for faster processing (you will be issued a RMA number when you request a return).

For being 5'3" and slim but curvy...

The North Face Aconcagua Down Jacket - Women's

The North Face Aconcagua Down Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 January 7, 2009

I scoured the reviews on here to see if anyone was my shape and size, and bought the black in a size small based off other's reviews. I've bought other North Face products in size small, so I figured it was a pretty safe bet. This guess further validated why I don't place bets.

I'm 5'3", around 125 pounds, and a fairly classic hourglass (if not oversized) figure with 32DD chest, 27" waist, and about 35" hips. My experience with the fit? Kind of puffy on in the shoulder/upper arm area, plenty of room in the bust (much to my surprise) and belly, a good mid-booty length, and a slight poof in the middle/upper back if viewed from the side. All around, there was just a little TOO much room in it for me.

And the other details? Love the fabric - it is shiny but not as blindingly high-gloss as I'd almost dreaded to find based on other reviews. Definitely cozy-warm... and I live in Milwaukee.

I'm going to exchange it for an extra small and give that a go. Might try the blue since I see that color is available...

I'll be sure to write a follow-up review for us shorties =)!

Not for us gals with small heads

The North Face Blanca Beanie - Girls'

The North Face Blanca Beanie - Girls'

Rating for this product: 4 January 7, 2009

I am a small-build woman (5'3"), and I usually purchase youth-sized hats because I have a pretty small melon. I bought this with high hopes, but unfortunately it didn't fit. Very cute, very warm, but I look like I have an oblong head when wearing it. Even when I pull the cap tight down past my eyebrows, there is still excess space in the top of the hat just sticking up awkwardly and making my head look funny. I'll be returning it.

The greatest sandals under the sun!

The North Face Ex-Boyfriend Sandal - Women's

The North Face Ex-Boyfriend Sandal - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 September 16, 2008

This is the FOURTH pair of these that I'm purchasing. I bought the brown ones in spring of '07, and wore the living heck out of them. I even used them while training for the 60-mile Breast Cancer 3-Day! The arch support is amazing, they can get wet without rubbing the skin off your tootsies, and they are, overall, just one tough pair of sandals. The comfort just can't be beat... but after as much wear as I've put them through, it's time to replace my old brown pair (the fabric lining under my feet has finally worn through).

Honestly the best 20 bones you'll ever spend on sandals. Don't think twice - just buy 'em in every color... you'll be glad you did =)

I bought these today at an outlet mall and wish I had bought another pair! They are incredibly comfortable - especially with the arch support, not to mention irresistibly adorable. Do yourself a favor and pick up a pair in every color. Just beware of what size you order - I usually wear a size 7 or 7.5 and I fit comfortably into a size 6.

Absolutely the best quality, but I'm short-waisted and it's a short fleece. Dreaded returning the product, but I knew it wasn't a fit I would wear.
