Five Ten Dragon Lace-up Climbing Shoe

Five Ten Dragon Lace-up Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 November 7, 2010

Really nice shoe with comfortable fabrics and lining. Overall, a moderately narrow shoe with powerful toe and good sensitivity - probably not idea for stuff like slab or cracks but works wonders on steep faces and roofs. Heel fits me very well with no extra space and feels very secure, even with laces untied. Doesn't stretch too much but I still recommend sizing as small as possible. Rubber is super sticky and haven't had any issues with durability. Planning on buying another pair when the time comes.

Wearing five ten dragons in US 8.0 (for reference, i wear 39.0 in sportiva speedsters and cobras; 8.5 in v10(2nd gen)) - 9.0 street shoe

Chaco Flip Eco Tread Sandal - Men's

November 3, 2010

Under the description, it says the sole is 'Ecotread' (25% recycled rubber) despite the picture showing Vibram. I have encountered this on many other sites while looking for the Vibram sole - they're all Ecotread unfortunately. Now there's a new flip called Chaco Vibram Pro which should be closer to what you're looking for.

La Sportiva Speedster Climbing Shoe - Men's Discontinued Rubber

La Sportiva Speedster Climbing Shoe - Men's Discontinued Rubber

Rating for this product: 5 February 18, 2010

a replacement for sportiva's mantra-s, this sensitive shoe feels very downturned. with a combination of leather and synthetic, the shoe has not stretched much but i still downsized as much as i could (9.0 street to 39.0). the rubber on the top of the toe is great for toe hooks and bicycles while the heel seems to feel like rubber painted on my skin - perfect. a peculiar thing is that the toe edges are rounded right out of the box, which some have said slightly detracts from edging ability. the vibram xs-grip2 is super sticky!

La Sportiva Viper Climbing Shoe - Unisex- 2008

La Sportiva Viper Climbing Shoe - Unisex- 2008

good for narrow feet, these shoes don't stretch too much because they're lined. wearing US men's 9 in street shoe, i have the vipers in a 40.0. the stiffness is excellent for edging but i've found them slightly less sensitive and downturned than i would like. the cushion on the heel is actually a really nice feature that really helps for bad landings when bouldering.

La Sportiva Cobra Climbing Shoe - Discontinued Rubber

La Sportiva Cobra Climbing Shoe - Discontinued Rubber

Rating for this product: 5 February 18, 2010

as a boulderer, this is currently my main shoe. surprisingly comfortable for the amount downsized (yeah, they stretch a decent amount and sportiva tends to size pretty large for climbing shoes). in street shoes, i wear a men's US 8.5 or 9.0; i ended up getting a 39.0 for these. they don't stay downturned very long but the relatively thin sole tends to make up for that. heelhooking is sometimes iffy but overall the shoe is precise, sensitive edging with amazing comfort. as an added bonus, they're now making these with xs-grip 2!
