Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 January 31, 2010

Ditto what MBison said.I have researched many 650 fill jackets and tried the MH Sub Z and sent it back!Three reasons
1. Fits short on lower back
2. Leaks down feathers like a sieve.
3. General craftmanship poor- if you pull the sleeve inside out you will see the exposed cut of the fabric ( marmot is folded, sewed and tucked in)
I own many things from MH but this jacket does not come close to the Marmot Guides Down Sweater (650 fill).
Backcountry is great with the return procedures!
I returned it and bought a Marmot Guide Down Sweater (650 fill).
It has leaked 1 or 2 down filaments (not down feathers like the MH Z), fits longer in the back and is bomber made!
Marmot is known for their high quality down standards.
I am 5'11, 185-189 lbs. and orderd a large in the Marmot.
The Deep Blue Color is awesome!
Hope this helps!

Marmot Mountain Down Jacket - Men's

January 31, 2010

Thanks for the comments! I went with the Marmot Guides down 650 fill and couldn't be happier.
Size large, Deep Blue!
Does not lose feathers and the craftmanship is far superior than the MH Sub Z!

Marmot Mountain Down Jacket - Men's

January 11, 2010

Can't decide between Marmot Mountain Down Jacket or the MH Sub Zero w/ Hood. I am returning the Sub Z w/o hood. Primarily because it is short fit on my back & losing a lot of feathers. The Sub Z w/ hood is a little longer but after reading about the Marmot-maybe Marmot down is s bit better? Any feedback on Marmot Jacket would be great. I usually take a large in MH stuff. I am 5'11 @ 188lbs. I probably take a large in Marmot.
Thanks

Weird Cut Under Arms

Mountain Hardwear Nitrous Down Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Nitrous Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 24, 2009

After much research between the Patagonia Down Sweater and Nitrous Jacket- I went with the Nitrous Jacket. I liked the slimmer cut versus that of the boxy cut of the Patagonia down sweater. Exceptional jacket, Sapphire (awesome color) but the large was too tight around the back of shoulder and under the arms. Tried XL and was too large. I am 5'10'' @ 188lbs -wear a size 42 regular jacket. I normally take a large in MH but unfortunately this cut in this style did not work. So I returned it for a sub zero in large. It would be great if Mountain Hardwear would re-work the cut on this model.
