The Wind Pro version is actually functional, unlike the regular Denali or Denali Thermal. The wind doesn't get through but the fleece is still warm and breathable. The only real difference visually is the textured finish on the fleece and the lack of one of the zippered pockets. Otherwise, the fit and look are identical to the other Denali. This coat feels like it's worth $200, the other doesn't. Highly recommended.

Buy this coat if you want something trendy to wear indoors or maybe on a very calm fall day. It does very little to block wind or water, so the instant the weather goes south you'll be wishing you bought a Windwall 2 or Apex Bionic jacket.

It provides a decent amount of warmth; I find that on fall days I can wear it outdoors with just a long sleeve shirt and be fine. Indoors, wear just a t-shirt or you'll get too warm in it. The fitment is a bit looser than other TNF jackets so you can definitely layer with this. It might make you look fat, so I really suggest trying this on somewhere to test the size.

Avoid the black color if you have pets, as it shows every last hair and spec of dirt.

There are matching gloves, which is nice. The gloves don't do much to block wind or rain either.

Overall the coat is "okay". It's a trendy thing to wear, and offers enough warmth for indoor wear. I can't recommend it for anyone spending long periods outdoors, or for venturing outside in poor weather. Go for a Windwall 2 or Apex Bionic if you want a single multi-purpose jacket.

I'm loving my Gotham jacket. The down fill makes it very warm on the cold Chicago days, but it's not bulky and sweaty like other coats I've had. The HyVent seems to work well at keeping me at just the right temperature. The pockets are plentiful, but not very big. They also don't hold things in well, so I wouldn't put stuff in there and go rolling around in the snow. The cut of the jacket is a bit more slim and it doesn't look huge and puffy; the elastic sections at the waste help with this. I like how the fur on the hood is removable -- sometimes it's a bit scratchy against my neck. Overall I'd recommend the coat if you want something warm and stylish. Should be a nice coat for the average person.

The Apex Bionic is a very versatile jacket. It's relatively warm, blocks a lot of the wind, and has good water resistance. You can wear it on a warm day and not get too sweaty, but you can also wear it on top of a sweater on a brisk fall day and not be cold. It's hard to find fault with this jacket except for the slightly unusual cut; seems like the 2009 model fixed that, but it could just be in my head. Compared to the Windwall 1/2, this offers better water resistance but isn't quite as warm.

These gloves match the Denali jacket personality: they're fairly warm, but offer no "technical" performance. That is, they don't stop the wind, and they don't offer any moisture wicking or water resistance. Wear these on a calm fall day, but don't use them for extremely windy or rainy days. The average person will be satisfied with these, but if you're "active" outdoors they're not going to cut it.

So far I've owned two types of winter coats: really warm ones that look stupid, or really stylish ones that aren't warm. The Gotham changes all that -- it's warm and stylish. Win-win.

Kept me warm when temperatures got to 10 below here in Chicago, and is still great to wear when it's in the upper 20s. The elastic waist and cuffs help keep the wind from getting in, and give it that fitted look. The hood is a bit bulky at times, but it does work.

A+ from me, I know I'll have this thing for a long time.

I have been burned by TNF on sizing before, so I was bound and determined not to let it happen again.

This coat runs a bit short in the chest, but the sleeves are sized correctly. I am 6' 175lbs and the medium is fine. I suppose if you wanted the ability to layer a lot under it, or like your coats a bit looser, the large would be okay. Please ignore the sizing chart posted, it's not that accurate.

The coat itself is comfy. The lining is soft and not itchy, and doesn't pill much. The outer shell is a rough nylon/oxford material that has a nice look to it. The fur on the hood is a bit obnoxious, but you can remove it with the zipper. I found the hood hangs very nicely and doesn't feel too tight or too big.

There's lots of pockets and pouches, but they're hidden well. The velcro over the main zipper is strong but you can still pull it apart with one hand.

Overall I'm very pleased with the performance of the coat and would definitely recommend it.

(Also, the colors in the picture are a tad washed out -- the colors in real-life are much more vibrant. I got "brownie brown" and found it to be a very rich color.)

Yep, it stops the wind -- they're not joking. Was walking along the lake in downtown Chicago with 28mph gusts and I felt nothing. Not the warmest, but a long-sleeve shirt underneath or a thin sweater should be sufficient for a warmer winter day.

The cut is unusual. The sleeves are baggy and long, but the jacket runs short and baggy. I am 6' 175lbs and bought the large -- may return it and go for a medium instead. THE SIZING CHART IS WRONG ON SLEEVE LENGTH. (I wear 34/35 sleeves and this feels like a 36 or 37)
