With the spring clip and my current pack having an elastic band along the shoulder strap, I decided i had no need for it.

I love it

Western Mountaineering Cloudrest Down Pillow

Western Mountaineering Cloudrest Down Pillow

Rating for this product: 5 April 24, 2008

This pillow is overstuffed for its size, quite full of down. If it was any bigger it wouldn't fit very well into the hooded top of my sleeping bad bag. after 3 nights in the field and 2 in my bed I am very satisfied with this purchase. After a hard day on my feet I don't skimp on my sleeping gear, It pays dividends the next day.

Nice Bladder , Tight Lid.

CamelBak Omega HydroTanium Hydration Reservoir

CamelBak Omega HydroTanium Hydration Reservoir

Rating for this product: 4 April 23, 2008

From the three brands I've tested I like this one the best. It Drips less. I might add I added to it the 90degree angle with shut off valve, and the Big Bite mouth piece. Water tastes great from it. The only downside is the large Fill Opening. I'm not what I consider weak, but it makes my fingers sore opening the thing. It always opens but seems to take much more effort than i think would be necessary, Also opening size would have been handy to standardize it to Nalgene/MSR size for my water filter.

But I typically just let the hose hang lose through some elastic band down my shoulder strap. I guess in my particular situation I could have done without.

CamelBak Big Bite Valve Mouthpiece

CamelBak Big Bite Valve Mouthpiece

I haven't used this one yet (it's a spare) But the Original Big Bite Valve that came with my Bladder works great. It leaks barely a drop ever.

Was an excelent choice...

CamelBak Ergo Hydrolock

CamelBak Ergo Hydrolock

Rating for this product: 4 April 22, 2008

This is a must have In my Opinion. It works great at shutting off the water. However when the valve is in the Off position the yellow lever is jutting off to the side. Just asking to get mud and rocks jammed behind it (especially if you take your pack off frequently and drop it in the mud)

Mary Janes Farm Organic Garlic Pesto Fry Bread

Very very good food. Just watch it. make sure you have a pan with decent heat dispersal. I tried cooking some in my MSR pot (thin walled stainless pot) over my Jetboil. and it just burned in the middle. The Bread is awesome when properly made :)

Carb Boom Carbohydrate Energy Gel - Real Fruit - Box of 24

Carb Boom Carbohydrate Energy Gel - Real Fruit - Box of 24

Rating for this product: 4 April 22, 2008

But I'm really not sure. I'm new to energy gels as a food source. So it's very hard for me to gauge. I would say it gave me the energy equivalent of 1/2 or 2/3 of a standard candy bar (snickers) sorry but that's my standard. Taste was fine, once you got used to it.
