The North Face Mercurial Liner Bag

The North Face Mercurial Liner Bag

Rating for this product: 4 August 10, 2010

I like the innovative design. I am a warm sleeper in general, so needed a bag that could be a good Sierra summer bag. So far on only two trips this bag has done well. I like the way I can adjust the temperature as needed when I get to my destination by turning it this way and that way. Wish it would pack a little smaller. As it is likely only a summer bag, a down version would be great to save weight and size, but this is pretty small as is. Seems well constructed and roomy. I am 6'1" and the tall fits me well. Might be nice of them to add a small mummy head portion that you could use if needed, but if it gets that cold a hat will do or a heavier bag.

The Original Model Still the Best

The North Face Paramount Convertible Pant - Men's

The North Face Paramount Convertible Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 July 23, 2010

The original model of this pant is the best! I tried the newer, fancier redesigned version and it does not fit the same, the fabric feels slightly different and some useful features are missing. I was lucky to find the old model here and bought a couple up. Super tough (I even had about 3 deer gum and chew them all night to get the salt out, lucky I found my pants in the morning) without a tear! Zip works solid. Pockets are very well placed and usable. Cool when you need them to be, warm when you need them to be. There could be a few minor improvements, sadly the "new" model misses the mark. If you want something that looks a little more fashionable, go for the new ones. If you want tough and useful, go for this older model before they are all gone!

The North Face Paramount Convertible Pant - Men's

August 4, 2009

I can't seem to find any decent, roomy convertible zip-off pants in a 36" inseam. All my searches seem to end up here, with TNF Paramount. Any other ideas out there? These only come in 35" and mine always shrink a little and end up being just a little too short. A solid 35" would be fine if it did not shrink. Thanks!
