Can't say enough about the Asylum Jacket!

NAU makes tough and sustainable outerwear, and the Asylum Jacket does not disappoint! The construction and attention to detail of this jacket is on par, if not better, than Arc'teryx, Patagonia, Mammut and the rest of the higher end outerwear companies. What I like most about this Jacket is the absence of any visible logos or branding.

The fit is true to sizing. I’m 6’1” and 185 lbs, and size large fits perfect. Slim/athletic fit, but enough room for layers. Backcountry’s product description doesn’t mention that the material is a three-layer waterproof, windproof, breathable fabric. The Asylum is very free moving and doesn’t have a ‘boardy’ feel like the Arc’teryx Alpha SV and others in it's class. It’s not the most compactable jacket, so stowing it in a pack takes up a little more room than comparable jackets. Overall, this will be my go-to jacket this season.
