Great pants!

Outdoor Research Venture Pants - Women's

Outdoor Research Venture Pants - Women's

I originally ordered these in a size large, as I was nervous that the mediums would be too small. The large pants hung on my hips, which was comfortable, but the legs were quite voluminous. I then tried the mediums which fit perfectly (matches the size chart, but I was worried that despite that they would run small). I wore these for a safari and could easily wash the dust out at night and they’d dry by morning. I also used them on a 7-day Klimanjaro climb for the first few days. They were comfortable to hike in, even with silk weight tights underneath. I like the capri option a lot. I don’t recommend the light color (Sand) for long camping trips as the dirt was pretty ground in (it’s coming out, but there still might be some stains). I like the fit and style so much that, assuming I get the stains out, I would wear them regularly.

Patagonia Go II Zip-Off Pants - Women's

Patagonia Go II Zip-Off Pants - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 September 20, 2006

In prepping for a safari/Kili climb, I ordered a couple pairs of pants. These Patagonia pants did not work for me. They were too big in the waist, although I think that the style did not fit my body (regardless of size). I think that if you know Patagonia pants, you know whether their pants suit you. After seeing how they fit, I would say that that sizing chart is pretty true to size. They were too high-waisted for me (I'm short). However, they fit my friend and looked great on her. The zip-off option is a great option.

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

I liked these pants a lot. I used them on a safari and on a 7 day hiking trip. They were comfortable to layer over base layers for the hike and for the safari I could wash the dust out at night and they would dry by morning. They seem to run pretty true to size--I was nervous that they would run small. I should have gotten a smaller size, but the size larger worked out fine. I think they have a pretty feminine fit with how they curve with your hips. I think the length is pretty normal (I have short legs and they were a little long, but that was also with the wrong size).
