this beacon is awesome. Directional arrows are fantastic, very comfy to the body, super reliable, easy to use. I used it in drills and was consistently impressed.

Arc'teryx Theta SK Pant - Women's

Arc'teryx Theta SK Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2007

Being female the only drawback with a bibs that to pee, it requires removing backpack, jacket etc... That said - this bib rocks. I love climbing in it because any shedding layers can simply be tucked into the bib for easy retrieval and use. They are comfy, roomy in the knees and back, and bomber.

I am a 5'5" 135 lb woman - and this pack rocked for me. I have had a HUGE time looking for an expedition size bundle that is comfortable as well as appropriate for my frame. This one worked.

They are comfortable, with articulated knees useful and appropriate for climbing as well as dropping a knee in the backcountry (knee pads fit under). They are windproof, and waterproof - tested out in the raining of January of the ADKS. A super pant

Mammut Barryvox Opto 3000 Beacon

Mammut Barryvox Opto 3000 Beacon

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2007

This beacon is phenomenal. I am thankful to not have HAD to use it yet - but any practices I do - it is so easy and so quick. During an avalanche certification course I used one - and was always the first to find the hidden beacon.
Your friends will want to go skiing with you if you have this. If they don't have one themselves - make them go first.

Marmot Eos Tent 1- Person 3 - Season

Marmot Eos Tent 1- Person 3 - Season

Rating for this product: 4 October 24, 2006

This is definitely a lightweight tent. As an average size woman, it was important for me to find a tent that I could haul on my solo trips. I am 5'5" and sitting up for me is a bit snug (that was a bit disappointing). I am now in the habit of bringing a small tarp to add extra room off the front for the trips I take in the bad weather (more often than not). It makes a difference. The tent is easy to set up, and also has a few reflecter points on the fly so finding it in the dark is "easy".
