No, this is just a shell. You need to wear an insulation layer underneath.

I have had good luck with the Nikwax for Down that Backcountry sells. Just search Nikwax and look for the one for down.

The North Face NSE Tent Bootie II - Men's

November 4, 2008

Do these slippers run true to size? Recommendations for sizing if they don't? What if your foot size is at the end of a size range, size up/down/follow size chart? Thanks!

North Face generally runs true to size... I have a lot of North Face boots and they've been true to size. I think you'd be fine in my opinion...

Nice Vest

The North Face Windwall 1 Fleece Vest - Men's

The North Face Windwall 1 Fleece Vest - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 4, 2008

I recently order one of these to wear as the temps began to drop. I am 6'2" 192#. I stuck to the size chart and it fits like a glove, but not too snug. I'd be able to wear some thermals under it but that's about it. If you like a little looser fit vest, order a size up. The vest does a good job of blocking wind, at least as well as a vest can. The arm holes are a little snug so that's why I wouldn't bulk up underneath, it'd just bunch up in your armpit. The fleece is very soft and gets even better with a good wash. I love the vest and I recommend it as a essential piece of gear to have!

Patagonia Down Sweater - Women's

October 24, 2008

black/black is black on both inside and outside, while the black/stainless is of a gray color on the inside. Some people don't like there to be a different color inside than the outside... hope that helps!

Great Bag

The North Face Base Camp Duffel

The North Face Base Camp Duffel

Rating for this product: 5 August 21, 2006

I recently purchased two of the XL bags. Needless to say that these bags are huge and very well constructed. One XL bag was more than enough for a 2 week trip and as always, with The North Face, quality is never an issue.

Petzl Tikka Plus Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 August 21, 2006

These is all you need for a good base camp headlamp. The LEDs are super bright and the battery life is unexpectedly long too. By far the best for the money.

Sweet boots

The North Face Arctic Pull -On Boot - Men's

The North Face Arctic Pull -On Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 21, 2006

I was lucky enough to grab a pair of these boots before my size sold out. These boots are like slippers with beefy soles. They wear perfectly. I order the same size as my regular running shoes and they fit great but everyone's feet are different so you'll have to decide what size you need. Hats off to The North Face!

Comfy Sweatshirt

Oakley Arrow Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's

Oakley Arrow Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 21, 2006

I agree with the previous review that it might be a little overpriced for the Oakley logo, it truly is a comfy sweatshirt. I've slept in it many times. If you're a die hard Oakley person, this is for you.

The North Face Sieve Shoe - Men's

The North Face Sieve Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 21, 2006

I don't think I can truly express how awesome these shoes are. I bought them to just wear them as water shoes, but after breaking them in (which only took wearing in water once), I won't take them off. These shoes are too damn comfy. As far as sizing goes, I ordered the same size as my regular sneakers and they fit fine. The laces like to come untied so double knot 'em. I'll most likely buy another pair.

The North Face Altimont Hoody - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 21, 2006

I recently bought one of these for my wife. Stick to the sizing chart and go off the sleeve length. Hers fit her perfectly and she loves the fact that it weighs nothing but still keeps her dry during light showers that we always get here in NC. She highly recommends it.

Horny Toad Viv Capri Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 21, 2006

I ordered one of these for my wife and she won't take them off. She says that they are way too comfy. I mean, she practically lives in them. They're made of a velor-like material. Great pants for relaxing in after a long day on the trails!

Great Shoes

Salomon Tech Amphibian Sandal - Women's

Salomon Tech Amphibian Sandal - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 August 21, 2006

My wife loves these shoes. She only has one complaint about them, the samll pebbles. The mesh does great for letting the water out and her feet breath, but smaller rocks, etc always seem to find their way into the shoe. Otherwise, very comfy shoes.
