Best pants I have ever owned. Better than my Arcteryx pants.

FlyLow Gear Chemical Pant - Men's

FlyLow Gear Chemical Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 17, 2011

I've had a great luck with pants, I think I'll be riding in these for a while too. I mainly rode in a pair of North Face similar to the Bizzo pants for 5-6 years. Since they had taken an ice axe and survived hard winters it was time to retire them... I purchased a pair of Arcteryx pants but found them too fitted and without pockets that could fit even my wallet. FlyLow caught my attention with their Sno Seal gloves. The Chemical pant is just baggy enough to be comfortable like your favorite pair of sweat pants but not looking like you wear XXXXL size tee shirts spending all day in the park. The materials are high quality and the stiching is very solid. The zippers hold out water very well (even in crappy PNW rainy weather we had January 2011) and the DWR was as waterproof as any 3 Layer Gore-Tex I have owned (Burton AK jacket, Arcteryx jacket). The cross flow vents are in the perfect locations and sized well. The interior vents aren't too big as to allow my knee to protrude out when hiking and the exterior vents allow plenty of cooling. The snaps at the cuff of the pant is perfect to make sure I'm not stepping on the pants with my heel during the walk back to the car. The only improvement I'd like to see is some sort velcro/snaps on the boot gaters. I got the size large, black pant. I am 165lbs, 6'2", 32" waist and 34" inseam. My next jacket will be from Fly Low... Keep up the great work.

Mammut Baseball Logo Hat

May 26, 2009

Sizing! I've looked at the Mammut web site and they don't have any information. Anybody have a relatable experience with something like Flexfit. Small vs Medium vs Large...I'm a 7 1/4" skull.

Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Men's Customer Appreciation

Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Men's Customer Appreciation

Rating for this product: 5 November 26, 2007

I have had a few Arc'teryx jackets now and I thought I'd give this one a shot. It is just like my older Arc'teryx softshell which has held up better and been more durable than my newer jacket. The pockets are placed well, the workmanship is very detailed and everything is sturdy ( no cheap feeling zippers). I am 6'2" at 160lbs and a Medium fits well even with my longer torso and arms. It isn't baggy...which is a big pet peeve of mine. It feels tailored. The only gripe I have is that the draw chord (the strings are threaded through the pockets)pulls from the back.
