A good second choice

The North Face Slider Pant - Women's

The North Face Slider Pant - Women's

I'm a fan of the Precita pants, but these are a great substitute. Great stretch, but beware of getting too large a size as they will stretch out. At first I thought the button was flimsy, but its held its own quite nicely. My only nitpick is there are two straps to button up your pants at the bottom in order to make them capris. As I only roll these up when I'm wading and would not wear them that way long term, I am annoyed that if I don't button the straps, they dangle and tickle my legs. Other than that great pants!

My New Love

The North Face Precita Pant - Women's

The North Face Precita Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 30, 2009

I always like North Face for my hiking pants. They always provide lightweight yet durable and rugged pants with big pockets to collect your "treasures." These particular pants are one of my favorites. I am between a 2 and a 4, so I ordered the 4 short (I'm 5'2") They are a perfect fit length-wise. Although I can't be a good judge of waist fit as I am between a size, and to me the 4 stretched a little too much in the waist for me to the point that I have to wear a belt if I'm hiking or hitch them up once and a while when I'm around the house, lest they be considered hip-huggers. The fabric is a fantasic-feeling lightweight canvas that you will shun your blue jeans for on casual days. The leg openings are big enough to fit over boots or to look quite dapper in flip flops. These are great for sight-seeing trips as they travel well and are wrinkle resistant.
