Very smurfy

Patagonia Long Haul Runners Shorts - Men's

Patagonia Long Haul Runners Shorts - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 11, 2006

Needed something light weight but that also had pockets for keys/goo/misc junk.

These shorts have exceeded all expectations. Soft liner, very lightweight fabric, hip pockets have enough space for me to take along an LED headlamp for longer evening trail runs.

Great trail shoe

Vasque Velocity GTX XCR Trail Shoes - Men's

Vasque Velocity GTX XCR Trail Shoes - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 11, 2006

Got these for trail running/snow shoeing and love them! The polycarb plate in the sole means no stingers from rocks/roots, and the Gore lining means feet stay dry (and warm in the colder months).

Great shirt

Mountain Hardwear Super Wicked Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Super Wicked Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 11, 2006

Really lightweight and very good moisture wicking properties.

I love the collar and front zip. At first I thought the zip might be a tad heavy for this shirt, but it is really unobtrusive when logging miles on the trail.

Abrasion resistance fabrics are well placed, I look forward to testing this shirt out on a weekend trip wearing a pack.

Awesome shirt

Ibex Norgie Crew - Men's

Ibex Norgie Crew - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 10, 2006

Heavier knit than the Outback LS but just as killer. Definitely a shirt for colder temps, great as a base layer for outdoor activities. Like other Ibex wool items, it takes a lot of abuse before it even begins to smell funky.

Excellent design

Chaco Z/1 Unaweep Sandal - Men's

Chaco Z/1 Unaweep Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 10, 2006

Used Tevas for years but got tired of the hook-and-loop-closures blowing out or losing functionality when playing in sandy conditions. Absolutely love the single strap configuration, very easy to tailor the fit. Also appreciate the fact that these can be re-soled after the tread wears down.

Nice and compact

Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Rating for this product: 4 August 10, 2006

Got this as a backup/trail running light. So far I am very happy with the Spot. Pretty lightweight and I like that the batteries are in the same housing as the LEDs. Main light is bright and throws a beam pretty far. Four close-up LEDs are good for general camp activities and trail hiking. Like that you can cycle through lower power settings. Seems pretty sturdy so far. Have submerged it completely during a trail run with no adverse affects.

Killer lightweight down jacket. Love the fact that I can stuff this into its sack and take it anywhere and not sweat the weight.

Situational headlamp

Black Diamond Soliras Headlamp

Black Diamond Soliras Headlamp

Rating for this product: 4 August 9, 2006

Had my Soliras for about 2 years now and for the most part am happy with the purchase.
Pros: seriously bright zenon bulb; lithium ion battery and car charger is killer; LEDs for around camp
Cons: battery pack is clunky, wish it had a more streamlined case design; heavy; reflector could use some tweaking.
I mainly use this when winter hiking/camping or when guiding a trip. Main light is crazy bright, only real beef is the weight. Bought a lighter lensed LED headlamp for summer/trail running.

Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Rating for this product: 4 August 9, 2006

Pros: light weight; very bright lensed LED; runs on 3AAA batteries; compact. Cons: battery case can be difficult to open; some quirks when switching brightness modes. I got this as a backup to my main Xenon headlamp when not guiding and have been very happy with the purchase. Great for trail running.

I have had many compliments on this piece, both on the fit and color(Garbanzo). This hoody gets put into heavy rotation once the weather gets colder.

Ibex Outback Shirt Long-Sleeve - Men's

Ibex Outback Shirt Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 18, 2006

Its crazy how soft and wearable this shirt is, and in truth most Ibex gear in general. I'm totally sold on the wool revolution.
I wore this shirt for a week while doing home remodeling, and it never got funky. Sure, you need to take some basic care when washing, but well worth it in my opinion.
