I use them to rack my quick draws, I'll prolly pick up a couple more for random tasks. Definitely handy, classic design.

Rossignol Ravyn Telemark Ski

Rossignol Ravyn Telemark Ski

Rating for this product: 5 February 4, 2009

I picked these up at the beginning of this season to fill that "go-to", don't know what to expect, everyday ski in the quiver. I got the 185's Mounted up with Marker Dukes on the line.

I've been super impressed from day one. They're light for their size, stiff enough to charge, but lively and poppier than a Volkl Gotama or similar.

Don't be intimidated by the girth either - they lay an edge fine on anything other than boilerplate. They do like to turn, so if you're constantly taking the B-line - I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Overall: A killer everyday ski for any western resort.

Too Warm?

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Fleece Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 11, 2008

This is hands-down the best fleece I've owned. I bought it as a thick mid layer to brave the nasty days on the mountain and it is perfect.
Honestly, the only complaint right now is it can be too warm when skiing. I don't wear it under my shell if the temp is higher than 20 - that turns out to be a sweatfest despite how breathable it is.
Also, if you don't take it off and wear it indoors it will sneak up on you... then all of a sudden you're tearing it off in a full-on heat flash.
Another reason I got this one is because I was sick and tired of every "normal" fleece looking good for 2 months, then getting that pilled look. No worries here - the fabric just does it's own thing and looks great.

50 Days and counting...

Hestra XCR Short Glove

I picked these up early last season. They still look the way I bought them - quality is through the roof. Very durable, and the leather is excellent. Very dexterous, rarely need to take them off to do something. Personally I think the under-cuff design is brilliant, I always thought the gauntlet styles were bulky. They'll keep you toasty down to about 10F in my experience. Basically the best gloves I've ever bought - looking forward to the next 50 days.
