It looks tougher than it is

Nixon Outsider Watch - Men's

Nixon Outsider Watch - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 July 11, 2011

This looks cool if you have a big arm and wrist. As noted by others the display is dim. Also, I don't recommend using it for water sports even though it says water resistant to 100m. Mine got fogged up in the pool.

Something for the big round melons

Bern Watts Hard Hat w/Knit Liner

Bern Watts Hard Hat w/Knit Liner

Rating for this product: 3 January 3, 2011

This helmet fits comfortably and does not make you look like a bobble head especially if you have a big dome. This will probably fit round melons better than oblong.
It's not a "certified" helmet but if a regular helmet doesn't fit you comfortably then this is better protection than a beanie.
On the downside, the felt on the helmet liner is not sturdy. The velcro attaching the winter liner can tear the felt off the inner liner on the helmet. This seems to be an ongoing issue for Bern since the same problem existed on my baker helmet. Otherwise a decent lid.

Pro-tec Riot vs Bern Baker

Pro-tec Riot Helmet

Pro-tec Riot Helmet

Rating for this product: 4 December 16, 2010

The Riot fits more of an oval head shape whereas the Baker fits a rounder head shape. It all comes down to a personal fit.
Both are very light. The materials & build on the Riot may be just a tad more refined.

The North Face Base Camp Duffel Bag - 2560-4395cu in

March 16, 2010

If you pack carefully you won't exceed 50lbs. I used a combination of vaccum compression bags and cubes to fit 10 days worth of clothes and accessories for a ski trip in Japan. I was not hit with an overweight or oversize charge on JAL.
The material is very sturdy and it still looks brand new after lugging it through 4 airports and multiple train stations.
It does take some thought and planning if you want to keep your belongings organized as things can shift in the cavernous compartment.
The XL is very large. It is not very practical for short trips.

The North Face Nuptse Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 18, 2010

Love: warmth, durability, low maintenance care, stays warm even when moist, stows into own pocket.

Hate: way too bulky, short sleeves relative to body

Overall not a bad piece if u don't mind looking like a pillow.

Solid piece

Burton AK 2L Turbine Jacket - Men's - 09/10

Burton AK 2L Turbine Jacket - Men's - 09/10

Rating for this product: 5 February 18, 2010

Great materials, construction, and style. The cloth is firmer than your normal flimsy shell.
This thing was adequate in windy blizzard conditions well below freezing (-18C) with only a dryride base layer in Niseko. The insulation is light but warm.
The L was more of an athletic fit on me (6' 200lbs). Go for XL if u want more baggy.

Perfect for the Car

Burton Board Sleeve

Burton Board Sleeve

Rating for this product: 5 March 25, 2009

I got a 160 and it easily fits my 163. It is light weight and stretchy. Perfect for transferring my board in my car when I don't need a full size travel bag. Just be sure to dry off your board before putting this on. Otherwise, you might get rusty edges.

Not bad

Mountain Hardwear Stance Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Stance Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 March 18, 2009

These are not as bad as described by some of the other reviews. For less than $50 they are actually pretty good. The full side zips allowed me to air out while riding the lift. They were water resistant enough. I would not use these in storm conditions. Hoping to get some good use out of these as spring riding picks up. I think they do an adequate job at minimizing humidity south of the border.

The North Face 3-Point Optimus Sandal - Men's

The North Face 3-Point Optimus Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 October 27, 2008

These sandals are comfortable BUT busted within first few times wearing them. If you have a thick foot the wires from the BOA will be exposed. The BOA feature is very tech too bad it's not put together well.
