A Great Summer Sock

Patagonia Lightweight Endurance Quarter Sock

Patagonia Lightweight Endurance Quarter Sock

Rating for this product: 4 September 16, 2008

Used these socks on both summer hikes and trail runs. Very comfortable and yet supportive. A nice mix of fabrics - wool, polyester and nylon. One down point: Even though a real smooth finish, burrs and brush that can easily snag individual yarns.

A great starter piece.

Marmot DriClime Jacket - Women's

Marmot DriClime Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 May 30, 2008

5 stars - "Love it" is what my sister-in-law thought of this jacket. She's not an outdoors person certainly not a backpacker but she always compliments me on my outdoor clothing since that's all I wear now.
If you look at the specs and description you'll find this jacket an excellent gift for people you love that aren't outdoor types.

Very Whole Food but Very Tasty

ProBar Koka Moka - Box of 12

ProBar Koka Moka - Box of 12

Rating for this product: 5 February 6, 2008

If you have never had a ProBar, like I hadn't, you'll be surpise by the texture. Imagine getting whole bunch of nuts, seeds, fruit and grains then mashing it all together to form a brick using a sweet, sticky liquid binder.
Unlike most energy bars, this is not "cooked", it very raw. But surpisingly not at all unpalatable. In fact you can really distinguish several of the main ingredients like the nuts & seeds, the fruit and grains. It's definitely an energy bar in a class by itself.

Just the right improvement

Patagonia Active Classic Boxer - Men's

Patagonia Active Classic Boxer - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 29, 2007

This is the next generation of Patagonia silkweight boxers where they added a natural odor fighting agent.
I've used them on the trail and they are able to go for week without any noticeable stinch.
Another plus is that the waistband is a bit beefer which makes them a 1/2oz or so heavier that the old version. But I consider that another improvement because the band stands up better after washings.

Best Boxers

Patagonia Capilene Silkweight Boxers - Men's

Patagonia Capilene Silkweight Boxers - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 6, 2006

I never liked boxers before trying these. Having an athletic build, boxer leg openings always tended to rise and bunch up. But these Patagonia boxers don't do this. I'm sure whether it's the cut compared to other brands or the silkweight material, or both, but they'll hang right.

Wool is Cool

Outdoor Research Sequence T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Outdoor Research Sequence T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 6, 2006

This wool-based tee is great in hot weather especially humid conditions. I even like it better than traditional silkweight. I wish OR offered more than three colors.

Wool works in summer

Outdoor Research Sequence T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Outdoor Research Sequence T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 29, 2006

I have a few silkweight T-shirts for summer weather. But this wool-based T-shirt, works even better than silky polyester shirts like Patagonia's Capilene, especially in humid conditions.
