These seem like they would be a little to light duity for a long hike like that, espically if you will be carrying a heavy pack. These will just be a little to light duity for a big hike like that, they would make an excellent day hike shoe.

These run a bit wide in the toe box, I wear a size 10.5 street shoe and I like these in a 27.5, or 9.5.

the liner, the Pro ID is a heat moldable liner. The Pro is the same shell with out the heat moldable liner.

Yes, this ski skis skis very short and is easy to maneuver. A frined is about the same size and skis on the same set up.
