I worked for backcountry.com for 2 seasons. I have spent 2 seasons as a liftie at alta, 5 seasons as a river guide in moab where i bike and climb when i am not working. and in the off season i usually travel to a foreign country for a couple months until the snow begins to fly.

I have had this ski since they came out, it is my backcountry ski, i have a pair of BD 01's mounted on them. They are good in trees, groomers and crud. They are adequate in Utah powder, but not great. Great quiver of one ski. The ski is moderately stiff and has a good flex. They are easy to turn. My set up is kilowatts 185, BD 01's freeflex(midstiff would be a better choice for this ski, BD glidelite STS skins. If you need a good backcountry ski, this a good option, just don't expect great float in deep powder.

Great for almost everything

Cloudveil Down Patrol Jacket - Men's

This jacket is very warm, it is made with windstopper so you do not have to worry about the wind cutting through it, The hood is removable, and it has a removable snow skirt as well. It is great for casual wear and a day cold day on the slopes. I think it is too warm to tour with. The only thing that could make this jacket better is if it was waterproof.

more for style than functionality

Chaco Z/1 Diamond Stealth Sandal - Men's

as a river guide on the colorado river, i depend on my sandals, i have never owned a pair of Chacos that have lasted more than 2 weeks. the soles usually delam or the webbing breaks. the only thing Chaco has going for them is their customer service. bottom line great as a fashion statement, but not a good technical sandal.
