I see that Arc'teryx uses coreloft and pimaloft insulation

I see that Arc'teryx uses coreloft and pimaloft insulation in some of it's coats... which is warmer? And is this coats surface durable enough for tree skiing, will a branch likely rip it like some more delicate puffers?
