Voile Release Kit w/ Brake

Voile Release Kit w/ Brake

Rating for this product: 5 February 22, 2008

I bought these after my knee surgery so that I would release from my tele skis. They were easy to put on my K2 Mount Bakers and I don't ever pop out unnecessarily. I've skied on them all year including several backcountry hut trips. I love the security of knowing that I will release before too much torque is placed on my knees.

Easy to Use

Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon

Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon

Rating for this product: 5 February 22, 2008

Very easy to use. I like the fact that it tells you how much battery juice you have left when you turn in on. With practice, which you should do with any beacon, I have no problems with it. Our entire group carried this type of beacon on our last trip and when an avalanche struck, we were well prepared. Our buried friend was found quickly and was dug out with minimal injuries. Admittedly, I don't have any experience with a multiple burial situation....and hope I never do. I highly recommend it.

Awesome Pack

DAKINE Blade Pack - 1800cu in

DAKINE Blade Pack - 1800cu in

Rating for this product: 5 February 21, 2008

They've thought of everything with regards to pockets. I especially love that access from the back side so that I can throw my skins in there quickly without having to open from the top. It is the most comfortable pack I've every skied in. It doesn't flop around and it holds all that I need for a day in the backcountry.

Powder Boards

K2 Mt. Baker Randonnee Ski

K2 Mt. Baker Randonnee Ski

Rating for this product: 5 March 27, 2006

I've been skiing in the Colorado Rockies for 20 years and these K2 Mt. Baker skis ROCK. They float on the deep powder and just want to turn on their own. I mounted tele bindings on them and they work great. I took them on a hut trip and they worked flawlessly. I am sold on K2's and this design is perfect for the powder. I also tried them out at a ski area and they handled well enough on icy, crusted chutes.

Voile Binding

Voile Hardwire Telemark Binding

Voile Hardwire Telemark Binding

Rating for this product: 5 March 27, 2006

This is an excellent binding. I did have to call voile and have them send me longer screws for mounting them on the K2 Mt. Baker. I also had to purchase the heel lifts and safety straps separately. This was all to the tune of about $30.00. It would have been better to get these items with the original purchase. When I called Voile, they said they stopped including these items so that they could be more competitive with their pricing. I feel that that was somewhat sneaky since I ended up having to purchase these items separately.
