Great technical pant

Arc'teryx Gamma MX Softshell Pant - Men's

Arc'teryx Gamma MX Softshell Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 12, 2007

Technical fit and stretch material make this pant my favorite for back-country skiing and cold weather climbing. In any movement and condition they give you a great freedom of movement and tight fit. The lateral pockets design with very flexible material are the best seen on any pant. You can put your mask, gloves or anything else and they expand as you need yet they do not add any bulk to the design. As usual Arc'teryx has designed a great peace of equipment with a minimal yet effective approach. Last but not least, they have a great design.
Pair them with Pac-Lite pants to be carried in your backpack for rain and storm conditions.

Great technical ultralight storm jacket

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 12, 2007

If you want a jacket to be always carried with you in you mountaineering, backcoutry skiing and hiking this is it. Technical fit, minimalist design make this jacket a great peace of gear. Helmet compatible hood is the best I've seen on any PAC-LITE jacket, and this is for me very important for full storm protection. I pair it with a wind-resistant soft-shell for maximum breathability for ascensions.
I would suggest you an XCR jacket if you plan to wear it most of the time of your skiing, mountaineering adventures. PAC-LITE shells have generally the only drawback of being less durable and rip-resistant than a full XCRs.
