The North Face Stratosphere Jacket - Women's

The North Face Stratosphere Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 13, 2009

This jacket is for the minimalists who want complete weather protection. I've worn it with the North Face Thunder down sweater in -2 degree weather skiing in the backcountry in Colorado and was so impressed I thought about getting another in case the design changes next year. This is the perfect shell!

Tall and skinny fit

Backcountry.com Luft 800 Down Sweater - Women's

Backcountry.com Luft 800 Down Sweater - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 January 12, 2009

Was hoping this would be my best answer for an affordable down sweater--all the warmth without the bulk. As an avid skier, I was looking for the best midweight layer money could buy. Unfortunately I was disappointed when I could hardly bend over with the small zipped. I am 5 ft tall 115 lbs, 28 in waist. The medium fit better in the waist but was too long in the sleeves and back length--it stuck out from my North Face jacket. Now I may be dropping the big bucks on the Patagonia sweater or the North Face down sweater. Lucky you if this fits! You are probably tall and skinny....

Love the short length.

The North Face Liberation Pant - Women's

The North Face Liberation Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 2, 2009

These pants are what I've been searching for forever! The short length is perfect for me (5'0) and the cut is generous. I usually wear a medium pant, but these in small are perfect. I usually look for full length zippers, ie, drop seat, but these are perfect the way they are. Been skiing in crazy storms already this year, had to sit in a puddle on the ski lift and still was dry underneath. The only thing I would change is the "thigh pocket". I mean really, what woman in her right mind would add to the width of her thighs??? So I leave it empty....Love these pants, though. Can't beat the fit. Thanks North Face for letting me think I'm a small....

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Jacket - Women's

December 19, 2008

I finally broke down after a season of wearing this coat. I used Tech down wash and dried on low for a long, long time. I kept taking it out of the dryer and fluffing the down. Some say put tennis balls in the dryer. I then left it out for a few days to continue to dry. It came out beautifully
