Happy with the LV

Five Ten Anasazi Low Volume Climbing Shoe - Women's

Five Ten Anasazi Low Volume Climbing Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 30, 2008

I decided to give these a try after only mild enjoyment of the 'old' blue Anasazi because of the Low Volume aspect. MUCH BETTER, here is why:

First, I only got a half-size smaller than my street shoe which fits perfect.
Second, The LV does not dig into my heel and cause ridiculous pain instead the heel stays put and is great for heel hooking on small surfaces.
Third,I wore these for a week long trip of bouldering in CO right out of the box and they function perfectly without pain and awkwardness.
Fourth, I recently wore them on a super-weekend sport climbing trip at Maple Canyon, UT (15 routes...8 in one day) with only the normal mild pain of having small shoes on for a full day.

All this has occurred within in the time frame of one month; purchase, boulder trip, sport climbing weekend, and normal training sessions outside. I even sent a long-standing project with them, Hoo-rah!

My little green bag

Osprey Packs Astro Bag - 1100 cu in

Osprey Packs Astro Bag - 1100 cu in

Rating for this product: 5 August 28, 2008

I used this for a week long vacation and could fit everything that I needed (minus the bouldering gear) into my bag. I am now using it for classes and so far it has held up very well walking around campus. I have yet to try it on my bike. I love the waist belt, makes carrying the load a little easier since weight is dispersed to the hips. Shoulder cushion is sufficient it could be a little longer in length. My laptop (15.4") fits great and I am sure there is room for a 17".
So far it has been beyond convenient.

I have only used this ‘biner to lead belay in the gym and it worked fine. I am used to a much larger ‘biner, but I think for sport climbing everything will be just fine. It has a good shape.

Good teeth

Black Diamond ATC-XP

Black Diamond ATC-XP

Rating for this product: 5 March 17, 2006

The XP is a great device, the only problem that I have had is there being too much friction through using the teeth. This does not occur all the time but when you first use the extra friction side you will immediately notice a difference versus a normal ATC. Rapelling is very safe and secure. Great device, and I have been happy with it. It belays and rappels well with all rope diameters.
