The North Face Bizzo Pant - Men's

January 2, 2011

How come The North Face website says these pants are 3L Gore-Tex Performance Shell and you guys say it's 3L Gore-Tex Pro Shell? Same thing goes for the Bizzo jacket? I've had this problem before, saying it's Pro Shell and it ended up being Performance Shell, but liked the stuff so much I kept it anyways. I'm inclined to believe The North Face site seeing how it's their clothing and they manufactured it...

Solid all round beanie

The North Face Ski Tuke II Beanie

The North Face Ski Tuke II Beanie

Rating for this product: 5 May 29, 2010

Great looks and super warm, fleece lined, wool winter beanie. The pom is also perfectly sized, not obnoxiously large as is found on most other beanies with poms on them. Also people always complement me on it when I sport it on the mountain...very cool...thanks to The North Face and Backcountry for busting it out...:-)

great lock

Pacsafe Prosafe 900 Travel Lock

Pacsafe Prosafe 900 Travel Lock

Rating for this product: 5 April 5, 2010

This is a great travel lock for people with lots of expensive gear. It aloughs you to lock it safely and lets you know if anyone has been looking through your stuff, which is a cool little feature cause I always wondered if anyone ever had. Now you will know for sure. I use one on each bag and if I need an additional one, say on a snowboard bag, I use a Pacsafe ProSafe 700 Combination Padlock along with the 900 cause there are more openings to lock. Both are excellent travel locks but only the 900 has the detection system that lets you know if it has been opened by TSA during inspection.

sweet jacket

The North Face Raging Viking Jacket - Men's

The North Face Raging Viking Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 16, 2010

I just got one of these to go with my Raging Viking LTD pants and am very happy. Very stylish and technically superior to boot. Super comfortable and warm, ease of movement is outstanding. The zip-in compatability thing, with the pants, is difficult to do / undo. The pant-a-locks work great and so does the powder skirt. I love the wrist pocket with the removable goggle cloth too. The new underarm vents are easier to use and work much better than the Free Thinker II or older Sedition jackets. It's also about 4-6" longer than other TNF jackets I have in my collction. All in all a good addition to your backcountry or resort wardrobe. Get one...you'll be stoked you did.
Ps. Why didn't you guys have this jacket in the Toxic Green color? It looked pretty cool on TNF site.

Very comfortable

The North Face Raging Viking LTD Pant - Men's

The North Face Raging Viking LTD Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 15, 2010

These pants rock! They're the most comfortable technologically advanced pant on the market. They are very unique looking and are basically bomb proof. I dig the style and fit of these pants...get some...you will too. Why aren't they "Summit Series" rated? They're 3 layer Gore Tex and fully taped and guarenteed waterproof and breathable? Isn't that enough? Also does The North Face use the 3 layer Gore Tex Pro Shell on anything? I've bought a few top of the line TNF Gore Tex products that stated, in product description, that they used 3 layer "Pro Shell" but when I received them they ended up being "Performance Shell". Specifically a Free Thinker II jacket, a Sedition Soft Shell jacket and Free Thinker pants and Select Convertable pants. What's up with that? A typo or bait and switch tactics? Not by you, by TNF?

Cool ass goggles

Smith Phenom Exclusivo Goggle

Smith Phenom Exclusivo Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 March 15, 2010

These goggles are very cool looking and the performance is exceptional in all conditions. I've got the sensor mirrors on all my goggles as they are the best in flat light / snowing conditions and also are good on bluebird days. My only question is how come no "clip" on the strap of these goggles? It's a solid strap with a silicone bead on the inside, to hold strap in place, but doesn't adjust or fit well with a helmut. I've got a Giro Omen helmut. I only wear these with a beanie, the Krink K-42 paint markers are very cool too.

Smith Phenom Goggle

April 16, 2009

what is the difference between the sensor mirror and the platinum mirror? I've got 2 other Phenom and Prodigy goggles both with sensor mirrors because i thought they adjust to the light. And i really like them, they never fog...ever! I do alot of backcountry and heli snowboarding and they are the best.
