You can use long underwear, there are many different weights to keep you warm. If you are still getting cold I recommend a fleece layer, if you don't want the bulk Cloudveil has a pair of fleece shorts. I think they are called the ultimate boxer short.

January 31, 2009
This is what TNF site says to do. Q2: How do I wash my down jacket? Periodic cleaning of down jackets is essential to maintaining maximum loft and ensuring the long life of the product. Though it is possible to wash your own down product, we recommend that you have your jacket or sleeping bag professionally cleaned by a service that specializes in cleaning down. If you do not have a cleaning service in your local area, you may send your product to the Warranty Department, and request that we send it to our cleaning service.

The differences aren't major enough to buy a color you don't like. Both have the same insulation, and are water resistant. The SL has the conduit material, but all that offers is a little breathablity, but in my experience downs are just there to keep you as warm as possible.

If you are about a size six, sometimes more, I would go with the Mediums. If you are about a size six sometimes a four, i would go with the smalls. Also, what you layer with can change everything. I'd go with the mediums if you tend to used a fleece layer or something thicker like that, and smalls if you typically where tights.

Volkl Tigershark 10 Foot Power Switch Alpine Ski w/ Motion iPT 12.0 TS Binding
December 4, 2008
This is a pretty stiff ski, great for an advanced all mountain skier. It is a step down from the racetiger. I think that this would be a comfortable transition up from the supersport. This is also a very responsive ski on just about any kind of snow, in any part of the country. The sidecut is very good all over the mountain. As I'm sure you already know, you can't go wrong with Volkls.

The big difference between the two jackets is the Polartec® Thermal Pro fabric, which gives the jacket 4 times the wind resistance. It is worth paying for for wind resistance! If you are looking for a fleece that works well alone and as a layer I would get the Denali Thermal, or one of the Gore windstopper fleeces.
