Ruffwear K-9 Float Coat

May 19, 2009

Our 75lbs GSD is wearing the Large size in this pic. She loved it. It looks a little big in the picture now but it fit her well and offered her good freedom of movement.

Ruffwear Web Master Dog Harness

April 21, 2009

This harness is not designed to discourage pulling and will actually make it easier for the dog to pull because the weight will be distributed to the shoulders and chest. Look at the similarity to a weight pulling, dog sled or skijoring harnesses which are designed so the dog can pull comfortably. If you have a strong dog that may present a problem for you. There are other harness/collar designs specifically to reduce pulling without choking the dog.

Great Midlayer

Marmot Ama Dablam Down Jacket - Men's

Marmot Ama Dablam Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 6, 2007

I was looking for an additional layer for winter camping. I was very happy with the jacket. I was hoping for a little more down but overall I'm very happy. It has a nice generous cut to fit over the layers I use during the day. It packs nice and small and the hood snugs in tightly.

Well made and sufficiently warm

The North Face Tundra Sleeping Bag: -20 Degree Polarguard

The North Face Tundra Sleeping Bag: -20 Degree Polarguard

Rating for this product: 4 January 2, 2007

I bought this bag for the northeast winters where moisture can be an issue. The bag is very well made and has kept me comfortable to -5 with moderate layers. I found it to be sufficiently warm but would expect to be adding some layers to get a good night sleep at -20. One nice feature of the bag is the how they used two different types of cord for the chin and hood drawstrings so they can be differentiated by touch in the middle of the night.
