  • Stomping Grounds:

    Utah at the moment
  • Bio:

I tele in the winters and play ultimate in the summers. I prefer backcountry skiing but if its a bomber powder day, you'll find me shredding at the bird. I like to charge and push my limits all time. If you aren't scared, then you aren't pushing yourself hard enough. Unless it stems from avy danger, then pay attention to your fears as much as you can.

Ski that loves top speed

Moment Belafonte Alpine Ski

Moment Belafonte Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 April 8, 2011

I got these skis mid season and I have to say, as long as its not a big powder day, these are my go to ski now. They love going fast and way fun for cliff jumping. Its a pretty stiff ski but it still has a lot of pop to them. They aren't great for quick mogul like turns (probably because I have the 192) but they are awesome for high speed and wide arcing turns in any condition. They're a great all-mountain charging ski. I'm 5'11, 170lbs and I tele the 192cm

Great powder ski

Black Diamond Megawatt Ski

Black Diamond Megawatt Ski

Rating for this product: 5 April 8, 2011

These skis are so awesome in powder. The fat and rockered tip floats like a dream and I've never had tip dive, which is a constant worry for tele skiers in powder. The non-rockered tail helps to stop wheelies and its great for skinning. I've skied them in a variety of conditions and I have to say they are NOT an all-around ski. They work but I rather take out another ski if there isn't much powder. I ski them with BD 01s and customs

Awesome knee pads

Black Diamond Telekneesis Kneepad

Black Diamond Telekneesis Kneepad

Rating for this product: 5 April 8, 2011

Love these things. I telemark and these things have averted 2 potentially devastating injuries. Once when my uphill knee hit a rock mid turn on an early season run which more or less brought me to an abrupt stop. The second time i started tumbling and ran into a tree, knees first. Both times I was able to get up and keep skiing without any injuries other than some slight bruising. Those two incidents have more than paid for these pads. Also they're light and help keep your knees warm and I don't notice them at all when I'm skiing or skinning. I would recommend this to anybody

Pretty rockin' bag

Marmot Eiger 36 Backpack - 2200cu in

Marmot Eiger 36 Backpack - 2200cu in

Rating for this product: 4 September 29, 2006

This bag is nice. Great for a long day hike or a weekend trip if go light. There are a plenty of straps and tighteners so you can either strap biner or tons of gear on to the pack if something doesnt fit inside. The one drawback is that its only top loading so sometimes I end up digging to find something. Its also a little heavy, but the beefiness is nice especially when backcountry skiing you dont have to worry about it snagging and ripping or anything.

Good bag

Marmot Sawtooth Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Marmot Sawtooth Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 4 September 29, 2006

This bag kept me warm this fall when the temp dropped to bout 20-25 deg, even when others were complaining about the temp I was warm all the time. Haven't used it below 15 but im sure it would be fine if I wear a sweatshirt or something. There is a little bit of a funky smell to it but doesnt bother me.

Awesome binding

Voile Hardwire Telemark Binding

Voile Hardwire Telemark Binding

Rating for this product: 5 September 29, 2006

I love this binding. It gives me great control and helps keep my back ski stable, even at high speeds. One problem is that the wires can get bent. I had a few gnarly crashes and had to replace the wires. Also it kinda sucks that they dont come with a runaway leash or climbing wires anymore.

Five Ten Coyote Laceup Rock Climbing Shoe

Five Ten Coyote Laceup Rock Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 September 29, 2006

This is a great show, especially for the more beginner type. The shoe is comfortable and easy to climb with. I got a half size smaller than my street size and it works great. One word of warning, if your feet sweat pretty good, expect red feet, the red leather bleeds for a while.

this ski rocks!

Black Diamond Crossbow Telemark Ski

Black Diamond Crossbow Telemark Ski

Rating for this product: 5 March 9, 2006

This ski is great. It stands up to all the high reviews it has received. It is very stable at high speeds but still has the control needed to make tight turns. The skis are on the stiff side so probably not for beginners but for anyone who knows how to tele, this is a rocking ski.

Voile straps

Voile Universal Runaway Straps

Voile Universal Runaway Straps

Rating for this product: 5 February 14, 2006

These things are awesome. They are really easy to clip on and off even with gloves on. I had a crash once and the clip got bent, but nothing a pair of pliers couldn't fix.
