Petzl Tikka Plus Headlamp

Petzl Tikka Plus Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 August 5, 2009

This headlamp is super bright, lightweight, and I have not replaced a battery since I got it. This thig is 10 times better that its closest rival. It is super comfortable because it doesn't have the added battery pack in the back! Petzl has always made excelent gear, and this is no exception. Trust me, unless your climbing Everest or on an extyreme trekking trip, this is the only headlamp u will ever need!

Unbelievable comfort!

Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 5, 2009

Wore these pants exclusively on a trip to Estes Park (RMNP). These pants are the S**T! They are super comfortable, quick-drying, and lightweight. I can't rave enough about these bad boys! The only complaint is that I may have been pushing the temp rating at 12000 feet! A pair of Capilene pants underneath was all I needed in my tent at 45 degrees. If u plan to be in colder weather, get a thicker pair of pants. I love that they dry real fast and hardly hold any stains that u may get when they are wet! Just get a pair already! The belt buckle is a bit tricky to begin with. Just fit the notch in the space and pull to lock...believe me, u will understand when u get a pair. I plan to get some more!

All the pad u need!

Therm-a-Rest Prolite Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 4 August 5, 2009

Used this pad in the Rocky MOuntains recently. This is all the pad u need! I didn't seem to roll off of it, even though I seem to be a "mobile" sleeper. It is tough to stuff into the stuff-sack that I had to order seperately, which is a bummer--only rwason I give it a 4-star rating, and "self-inflating" is a joke...but doesn't take a whole lot to blow up u lazy asses!

Awesome Boots

Asolo FSN 95 GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 5, 2009

I used these boots for the first time on a trip t Rocky Mountain National Park. It was raining for half of the trip. These boots performed flawlessly! There is hardl;y any break-in time. As with any boot, I would recommend purchasing an insole for added comfort, but this is just a suggestion. These boots look good from trail to town. Get a pair now! I got mine at an incredible deal from Sierra Trading Post website....couldn't pass it up and do not regret!

Estes Park and Warm

Marmot Atom Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 August 5, 2009

OK....I am a cold sleeper. I just recently returned from a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. Even though it was the end of July, temps were down in the low 40's overnight. At 12,000 feet, this wasn't unexpected. I ordered the long, and with the hood cinched and capilene pants and common long underwear shirt, iI was nice and toasty. Nothing beats real down for comfort and the finish on this bag is so silky and slides over your clothing while in the bag. Holy Crap! This bag would compress to the size of your mom's smallest hand-bag and weighs less than a bag of chips! I mean c'mon, unless u are camping in 40 and below, this will suffice! This bag will work for anything but the most coldest, wettest conditions!

Sweet action!

Jetboil Classic Personal Cooking System

Rating for this product: 5 August 5, 2009

Just got back from a trip to the RMNP. I lived on Lipton Pasta meals and tuna or chicken packets. This stove performed wonderfully. As a matter of fact, I was done eating and cleaning up before my partner had his meal cooked! If u don't have one of these, u got to get one. Coffee in the morning is easy, and if u want to use freeze-dried meals, u will be eating in minutes! This thing is so compact1 It basically packs up inside itself. The neoprene comes off for easy cleaning which is a plus for anti-odor which might attract a bear or two. Get one already!!
