I see the same thing on a number of different websites. Many, many pics of this jacket clearly represent the cuffs without velcro but I have never actually seen one like that in the wild. They all seem to have velcro.

The North Face Freedom Pant - Men's

As long as they're making, I'm buying. The fit and construction are excellent, the venting works wonders and the cargo pocket is as thoughful as any pocket on the market - a simple velcro closure ON TOP of the thigh (think about chairlift access and not falling sideways on your cargo). The only thing they could do to ruin it is to change something. Try them on in a store to get the sizing right - lot's of options.
