Just used it in -20 weather, absolutely warm, easy to set up and pack away. Runs a bit heavy. Very-very comfortable.

Osprey Packs Crescent 110 Pack - 6900 cu in

Osprey Packs Crescent 110 Pack - 6900 cu in

Rating for this product: 4 January 31, 2008

Lots of bells and whistles, but very durable. There are a lot of ways to make it very comfortable. Make sure you adjust it to your frame, or you will feel the pressure points by the evening. I did not fuss around with the oven thing they advertise, just adjusted it to the load. It worked very well. It's is a heavy bag though. If you are a minimalist you would probably pick up something else.

Wore it for three days straight on the most recent trip, with a fleece and a gore tex jacket in 0F weather. Did it's job very well.

One of the best you can get

Marmot CWM EQ Sleeping Bag: -40 Degree Down

Marmot CWM EQ Sleeping Bag: -40 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2008

Used it in -20, only had my socks and a light next-to-skin layer on. It was perfect, even a little warm, had to pull down the zipper on the side. Packs well into the sack it comes with it. Waterproofing really works, stayed completely dry on the inside.

Very warm

Black Diamond Guide Glove - Men's

Black Diamond Guide Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 29, 2008

Very-very warm. Runs a bit bulky, but you can remove the liner and use the outer shell with a tech glove. That's what I did in -15F, less than that, just use it as it comes. Truly waterproof. Bulkiness can cost mobility, i.e. putting on a crampon can be a challenge :)

Good knife

Benchmade 556 Mini-Griptilian Knife

Benchmade 556 Mini-Griptilian Knife

Very durable, long lasting craftsmanship. It is heavy though. I would not choose it again for a mountaineering trip where every once counts.

Good

Patagonia Micro Puff Pullover - Men's

Patagonia Micro Puff Pullover - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 29, 2008

Throw it over your base layers when arriving to camp just under the Gore-Tex shell, it will keep you warm.
Would love to see one with a hood. It is right for cold weather (0-20), but not for extreme cold (-20 and below), you need more layers for that.

Very good

Patagonia Micro Puff Pant - Men's

Patagonia Micro Puff Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2008

I gave four stars to the top, just because i wanted to see it with a hood. The bottom is perfect. Easy to get in and out when it counts. Wore it in -10 in camp, and worked well with a skin layer, fleece bottom and Gore-Tex bib on top. Keeps you warm for minutes just sitting before you feel that you need to move to get warmed up.

Arc'teryx Alpha SV Bib - Men's

Arc'teryx Alpha SV Bib - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2008

I don't think it gets any better than this bib. Very well designed. Maybe the elastic cords could be more durable, but even those work perfect. Very easy to get in and out. And it will keep you dry.

The best

Arc'teryx Alpha SV Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Alpha SV Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2008

Just like I wrote to to the SV bib: I don't think it gets any better than this jacket. You can adjust the hood in three different ways so it stays in place in high winds. It is very strong and comfortable. I had no problem with the length, and it was easy to operate th underarm zippers with a backpack on.

Not warm enough

The North Face NSE Tent Bootie - Men's

The North Face NSE Tent Bootie - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 January 29, 2008

Wore them in 9F weather in camp with sock liner and socks. The sole is not insulated enough i think. I would go with something warmer for below zero weather.
