Light weight, easy to use, has everything you need for a quick wax job(except iron.) Universal wax is actually pretty decent too.

Great Boots

The North Face Lifty GTX 400 Boot - Women's

The North Face Lifty GTX 400 Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 29, 2007

Let me preface this by saying that I've had both Sorel Badgers and The North Face Chilkats. Both were returned for comfort issues. These boots, however, keep my feet incredibly warm and work wonderfully both for snowshoeing and just shoveling the driveway. These are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever had. They offer great support and are warm enough to fight off the cold and frostbite.

The Most Painfully Comfortable Boots I've Ever Worn

The North Face Chilkats Winter Boot - Women's

The North Face Chilkats Winter Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 February 28, 2007

I bought these boots off of multiple recommendations from friends. I was looking for something to snowshoe, hike, and shovel in. After two days of wearing, I've realized that these are not the right cut for me. I'm getting ring bruising around where the top of the boots hit my leg when walking. They don't have enough give to keep from rubbing me painfully there. That being said, the foot bed is extremely comfortable, snow never got into my boots, and my feet were kept quite warm. The primaloft seems to work well also. Perhaps if I were a little longer in the leg these would have been a good fit.
