Quick turns, easy in the bumps

Volkl RTM 80 Ski with IPT Wideride 12.0 D Binding

Volkl RTM 80 Ski with IPT Wideride 12.0 D Binding

Rating for this product: 4 January 31, 2012

Just acquired the RTM 80 after demoing them at Jackson Hole before Christmas.

I am a late 50's expert skier who enjoys bumps and steeps. Consequently, I like a ski that is quick edge to edge and sucks up the bumps, providing some shock absorbing capability for my well experienced knees.

The RTMs fit the bill. They are agile and playful quick turning and fun to ski. I was at first skeptical about the full rocker concept but now I am sold.

My only complaint is the skis are a little squirrely on the cat tracks, kinda jumping around. I am sure it is a matter finding how to ride them and even that will not be an issue.

Great for sun protection

Patagonia Capilene 1 Crew - Men's

Patagonia Capilene 1 Crew - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 18, 2009

Been using this shirt for several years as a sun shirt. I'm very fair skinned and cannot take much sun before burning badly. In direct sunlight, the white shirts help keep you cool by reflecting the suns rays and pulling the moisture off your skin. I prefer this shirt to bare skin and sunscreen. I'm on the water for days on end and I own and wear four of these in white.

One of Patagonia's best products!

Generally don't like Balaclavas

Patagonia R1 Balaclava

Patagonia R1 Balaclava

Rating for this product: 5 August 28, 2008

I generally don't like balaclavas. However there are some days when its either hit the bar, suffer frostbite or cover up. I have owned three balaclavas and the first two were too bulky or became wet very quickly. This balaclava is light, comfortable and quickly sheds moisture. Fit easily under my helmet. I am wearing more than originally expected. Highly recommended.

Good but not great

Oakley Wisdom Goggle

Oakley Wisdom Goggle

Rating for this product: 3 January 2, 2006

Skied for a week at JHMR in awful visibility and 43in of new snow in six days over Christmas. I'm not complaining about the conditions. Googles fit ok over my eyeglasses but did not move enough air to keep them fog free. The addition of the anti fog solution to the glasses seemed to solve the problem but my old Bolles seemed to have better ventilation.

Had to open these straps to the max to fit over the helmet but they did the job.
